Hamburg's live music clubs

Map of 7 locations in Hamburg, Germany

Hamburg's concert rooms are small, loud and mostly older than the acts that fill them, and they are organised: the Clubkombinat keeps a membership roll and hands out a clubaward every year, which makes it possible to check a venue's standing rather than assert it. What is gathered here are the rooms that book live bands first and sell drinks second, from a cellar forty-six steps under the Reeperbahn to a decommissioned East German factory ship moored in the harbour. Each one is placed by its own programme, its award record where there is one, and the shape of the room it plays in.
