Hurricane Luis (1995)
A long-lived system that severely affected the Leeward Islands. After striking them it moved northwest of the Greater Antilles, then curved and weakened as it accelerated northeastward. Late on 10 September it transitioned to an extratropical cyclone, restrengthened, and made landfall on Newfoundland. Damage across the affected areas was estimated at $3.3 billion.
