Hurricane Felix (1995)

It reached low-end Category 4 intensity late on 12 August, then passed within 75 miles southeast of Bermuda on the 15th as an 85 mph hurricane, where rough surf destroyed a few boats and damaged hotels on the island's southern shore. It never made landfall but stalled off the coast of North Carolina, leaving great uncertainty over its track. Along the East Coast of the United States it caused severe beach erosion, and in North Carolina 20 to 30 houses took minor damage totalling $57,000. The deaths were all drownings, on the coasts of Rhode Island, New Jersey and North Carolina.
