King's Theatre

Opened in 1906 and used by the Festival from 1947, mainly for opera in the early decades and for theatre since. It closed for renovation in 2022 and reopened in 2026 after a £41 million refurbishment, putting 1,300 seats back on the Festival's books after four dark summers. It shares a box office and a phone line with the Festival Theatre under Capital Theatres.
