Festival Theatre

Opened in 1892 as the Empire Theatre, a variety, musical and opera house, and taken into the Festival in 1947 for ballet before the 1994 remodelling turned it into the staged-opera house. It seats 1,915, the biggest lyric stage the Festival uses, and carries the large-scale theatre as well. Box office hours run Monday to Saturday, 11am to 3pm, or until curtain up on performance days.
