London Bridge
The site of one of the first two Roman crossings of the Thames, the other being at Staines, and for centuries the only bridge below Kingston. The current structure is one of the five bridges owned and managed by City Bridge Foundation, whose published works schedule lists no major closures here. The endowment that pays for it is the same 11th-century fund that keeps Tower Bridge out of the maintenance backlog estimated at £241 million across London in 2021.
