Schiffshebewerk Henrichenburg

The lift was built in 1899 to raise and lower boats between canal levels and was taken out of service in 1969, after which it was converted into an LWL museum. The later lift beside it, dimensioned for Europaschiffe of 85 metres length and 11.4 metres beam, worked from 1962 until 2005 and now stands disused. The wider Schleusenpark Waltrop takes in both structures.
