Stadion

The rainbow archway by Åke Pallarp and Enno Hallek spans the gap between the two platforms, so it is in view from the moment you step off the train and needs no hunting. Stadion opened in 1973 as one of the first stations blasted straight out of bedrock, and the rainbow was the answer to a worry that raw rock caverns would feel oppressive: a reminder that the sky is not far above. It is roughly ten minutes from T-Centralen on the Red Line, and the station serves the 1912 Olympic Stadium above.
