The Steel Bridge

A through truss of 1912 with a double vertical-lift span, carrying Union Pacific, Amtrak and MAX light rail on one deck and rail, bikes and pedestrians below. Its two decks lift independently, which is the reason it is described as the only double-deck bridge of its kind in the world. Ownership is split: Union Pacific owns the structure, TriMet manages the upper deck, and the City of Portland maintains the lower multi-use path.
