Marché Saint-Quentin

The predecessor here was the Saint-Laurent market of 1835, demolished in 1852 when the boulevard de Strasbourg was cut through; the present iron hall dates from 1866. It is described as the largest covered market in Paris, and the scale shows in the aisle length rather than the ceiling: butchers, fishmongers and greengrocers with counters to eat at between them.
