Marché Saint-Germain

Third market on the site: a hall of 1511 was demolished in 1762, a replacement stood from 1760 to 1771, and the surviving structure of four galleries around a rectangle went up between 1813 and 1817. It came close to being demolished again in the early 1990s and was kept by a preservation campaign, which is why the galleries read as an arcade wrapped around a modern interior. The name now also belongs to the subscriber-only car park dug in underneath.
