Carlyle's House

Thomas and Jane Carlyle moved into this Chelsea house in 1834 and it became a working address for literary London, visited by Dickens, Ruskin, Tennyson and Thackeray. The rooms are furnished with Victorian pieces and there is a walled garden behind. Now a National Trust property; opening times vary by season and there is no step-free access.
