Mercado de Benfica

Opened in 1965 and the youngest hall on this list, still functioning as a daily shop rather than a destination: fruit, vegetables, seafood and meat for the surrounding streets. A few prepared-food stalls have been added over the years, serving regional dishes, but the balance has not tipped the way it did at Ribeira or Campo de Ourique.
