Palazzo Rosso

The Brignole Sale family built this palace between 1671 and 1677 and owned it until 1874. That year Maria Brignole Sale De Ferrari, Duchess of Galliera, gave it to the city of Genoa. Some rooms still keep their original arrangement: frescoed 17th-century rooms, an 18th-century alcove, and a 20th-century apartment designed by Franco Albini. A lift goes up to the roof, where you can see how the palaces of Strada Nuova were laid out along the street.
