Îles Sanguinaires

Four small islands about 12 km from Ajaccio, lined up off the Parata headland at the mouth of the gulf and reachable only by boat from the city. The rock is red, which is what the trips at the end of the day are sold on. Sailing out, the 16th-century Genoese tower on the tip of Parata sits to starboard, directly in line with the archipelago.
