Girolata

No road reaches Girolata: the village at the northern edge of the Scandola reserve is served by boat from Porto and Calvi, or on foot by the Sentier du Facteur, the old postman's path from Osani. The shore is pebble, tucked inside the gulf, with a Genoese tower on the bluff above the houses. Excursion boats call in around midday and late afternoon, so walkers arriving on the trail should time their swim outside those windows.
