Grant Park
The off-leash run here, known locally as Grant Bark Park, is a large paved rectangle rather than grass, with a doggie drinking fountain at the edge. Park hours are 06:00 to 23:00, and the 13,000-square-foot run took years of neighbourhood lobbying and $150,000 to build. Outside the fence the ordinary park rules apply: a dog off leash in the rest of Grant Park can draw a fine of $500 or more.
