The Cricketers
Rumoured to be the oldest licensed premises in the city, in a building said to date to the late seventeenth century, with an adjacent stone and flint structure attached to it. The interior is plush late-Victorian, and the two-star grade covers what survives of it rather than the frontage. Cask beer and pub food seven days a week; cellar passages to the beach and the Pavilion remain a story rather than a fact.
