Rixdorfer Höhe

Some 700,000 cubic metres of rubble built this hill inside Volkspark Hasenheide. Katharina Szelinski-Singer's bronze Trümmerfrau, 2.4 metres tall, was unveiled at the park's western entrance in 1955 to mark the women who cleared and carried the debris; it was restored and moved in 1986. The slope now doubles as a sledging run.
