Kienberg

A glacial hill to begin with, raised further by debris and rubble tipped here between 1966 and 1981, which makes it the East Berlin counterpart to the western Trümmerberge. For the 2017 International Garden Exhibition a summer toboggan run and a 1.5 kilometre cable car were installed, the latter carrying passengers from the U-Bahn station to the summit in about five minutes. The view takes in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf Plattenbauten and, on a clear day, the television tower.
