Museum Het Schip
Michel de Klerk designed this block for the housing association Eigen Haard between 1917 and 1920, with a post office and a tenants' meeting hall built into it; the curved brickwork and tapering tower earned it the nickname Het Schip, the ship. The post office counter and one restored workers' apartment are now the museum's permanent display, and guided tours run from here through the surrounding Spaarndammerbuurt. Dutch heritage records and the city's own architecture guide both date the completion to 1919 for the housing and 1920 for the post office wing.
