Museum De Dageraad
Michel de Klerk and Piet Kramer designed these dwellings for the socialist housing association De Dageraad, built with municipal subsidy and completed between 1920 and 1923 inside Berlage's Plan Zuid. The subsidy conditions are legible in the result: four storeys maximum, stairwells opening directly to the air, and the sloping shoulders of brick that the association's tenants called the ladder windows on Burgemeester Tellegenstraat. The visitor centre at number 128 is run by Museum Het Schip and shows the complex's own construction history.
