Lolobau, 1911
Lolobau is a volcanic island of about 8 by 13 km off the eastern coast of New Britain, Papua New Guinea, with a caldera rising to 878 metres. The eastern vents produced explosive and effusive activity in 1904 to 1905 and again in 1911 to 1912, with ash, pumice and lava flows. The 1911 episode sent ash columns into the stratosphere.
