Hekla, 1947
The eruption from the Hekla volcanic system followed a repose period of 102 years and was similar to, if slightly smaller than, the eruption of 1510. Tephra fall from 29 March 1947 was documented in a later study, and Hekla ashfalls were recorded as far away as Finland.
