Griffith Observatory

Built between 1933 and 1935 in Art Deco on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood, the observatory doubles as the destination when the print of Rebel Without a Cause breaks mid-screening. The building's own interiors appear on film, but the planetarium the couple waltzes through was re-created on a set rather than shot in the real dome. The rotunda and the lawn below it remain open to the public.
