The Bruges locations of In Bruges

Martin McDonagh shot In Bruges in the historic centre between 2 February and 28 March 2007, for a story set in December, which is why the Christmas decorations stayed up. Almost every street name spoken on screen is the real one, with two deliberate exceptions: the gun is collected at an address the film invents, and the Basilica of the Holy Blood scene was shot in the Jerusalem Church after permission was refused. The top of the Belfry is a studio set, because the real parapet is too thick to look over.
