North Curl Curl Rock Pool

A 50-metre lap section with a natural rock floor, plus a sheltered toddler pool, set on the rock platform at the northern end of Curl Curl Beach. A natural pool existed here in the early 1900s; in the 1930s the Unemployment Relief Scheme extended it at a cost of 400 pounds, and after storm damage in 1947 the pool was not reconstructed until 1957. Free, rarely crowded and used by serious swimmers, with rocky platforms alongside for sitting out.
