Cyclone Gati (2020)
Gati formed from an area of low pressure in the Arabian Sea on 21 November. Its winds rose from 65 to 185 km/h in 12 hours, and it weakened slightly before coming ashore in northeastern Somalia on 22 November over Ras Hafun, the easternmost point in Africa, with maximum sustained winds of 170 km/h. The storm displaced thousands, caused extensive damage and worsened locust swarms in the region before moving into the Gulf of Aden.
