Rough Trade East
Rough Trade started as a shop on Ladbroke Grove in 1976 and became a label afterwards; this branch, in the cavernous remains of the Old Truman Brewery, runs to around 5,000 square feet. The stage is purpose-built with standing room factored into the floor plan, and gigs tend to start around 7pm, free with a pre-collected wristband or with purchase of the album being played. There is a cafe, a black and white photobooth, and handwritten staff cards in the racks.
