Millard House

Known as La Miniatura, this is the earliest of Wright's textile block houses and the first test of the patented system he would repeat three more times across Los Angeles. Lloyd Wright laid out the grounds in the eucalyptus grove and added a separate studio building in 1926. Critics have read the cross motif in the block pattern as a Mesoamerican figure for the shape of the universe; from the street the flat roof and closed walls give little away. Listed on the National Register in December 1976.
