Between 1919 and 1939 Wright built a handful of houses across Los Angeles, four of them tests of a patented concrete block system that his son Lloyd shuttled between sites to supervise. They range from a city-owned museum you can walk into to a private hilltop that admits nobody, and the difference in their fortunes is mostly a matter of who paid for the repairs. Each entry notes what was built, for whom, and what condition the fabric is in now.
