Portobello Swim Centre

Built in 1898 on the beach at Portobello, this is the only remaining public Turkish bath in Scotland: three hot rooms, a steam room and a plunge pool behind the swimming baths. Sessions run separately for men, women and mixed users, and the Victorian Turkish Baths project advises contacting the baths before travelling, since municipal pools close periodically for repairs. The Guardian put the admission price at £9.60 in November 2024.
