City Baths
The Northumberland Road baths opened in 1927 on the site of the Northumberland Baths of 1859, and closed to the public in 2014. The Grade II-listed building reopened in 2020 after a restoration reported at between £7.5m and £8m, following a decade-long campaign; a two-hour Turkish bath session includes mahogany-panelled booths beneath a glazed dome and a swim in the pool upstairs. Fusion Lifestyle, which commissioned the works, later went into administration and the baths were taken on by GLL.
