The screen goes up in the rear courtyard of the Kunstquartier Bethanien, where the cinema has run for more than thirty years and remains the only open-air in the city that programmes subtitled original versions throughout. The 2026 season runs 8 May to 6 September, with the programme changing daily and the film starting once it is properly dark rather than at a fixed hour. Seat cushions and blankets are part of the arrangement, dogs are admitted on a lead, and tickets can be bought online to skip the box office queue.
