Kunsthalle Basel

Contemporary and avant-garde art in temporary exhibitions, with a programme of lectures, performances and film and video screenings alongside them. The institution has been running since 1872, which makes it one of the oldest exhibition houses of its kind in the city. Its library occupies the Klostergasse 5 side of the building and is reachable at bibliothek@kunsthallebasel.ch; access there is only partly step-free.
