Mercat de Sant Antoni

Antoni Rovira i Trias laid it out in 1882 as a Greek cross set inside a square, filling a triangle of Eixample blocks between El Raval and Poble Sec in the spirit of Cerdà's plan. The hall closed in 2015 for a long renovation, with trading moved to a temporary structure next door. The vendors' association still runs a telephone ordering line for home delivery, and the second-hand book and coin market trades outside on Sundays.
