Schloss Urach
Residence of the counts of Württemberg-Urach and birthplace of Eberhard I (1445 to 1496) and Duke Christoph (1515 to 1568); the town lost its role as a seat of government when the county was reunited in 1482. The surviving group is the gate tower, the professors' building, the gatekeeper's house and the palace itself, with a four-aisled vaulted Hofstube on the ground floor and a first-floor hall painted with ancestral arms. It is a state-owned monument administered through Bebenhausen, and is on the register of cultural monuments in Bad Urach.
