Hurricane Gonzalo (2014)
The storm peaked on 16 October 2014 with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph (235 km/h) and was the first Category 4 Atlantic hurricane since Ophelia in 2011. It struck Bermuda with gusts as high as 144 mph (232 km/h), downing hundreds of trees and causing widespread roof damage, the second cyclone to hit the island directly within one week after Hurricane Fay. A large storm system involving its remnants crossed the British Isles and central Europe on 21 October, killing three people in the United Kingdom and badly disrupting transport.
