Amsterdam venues holding a 24 hour licence

The city began issuing round-the-clock permits in 2013 on the condition that the rooms sit away from the residential centre and run a cultural programme alongside the club nights, which is why almost every holder is in Noord or out past the ring road. Without a fixed closing hour the shape of a night changes: nothing is emptied onto the pavement at a set time, and the last hours belong to whoever is still there.
