Typhoon Nesat (2011)
Known in the Philippines as Pedring, Nesat came ashore in eastern Isabela and Aurora provinces at 18:21 GMT on Monday 26 September with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph, after the government ordered hundreds of thousands of people evacuated. It passed north of Manila, which recorded tropical-storm force gusts and 75 to 100 mm of rain, and four people died in Valenzuela when a wall collapsed on them. Ninety-eight people were killed in the Philippines. On 29 September, having re-formed a ragged eye about 10 nautical miles across, Nesat made landfall over Wenchang on Hainan, China, and began weakening again.
