Typhoon Danas (2013)
Danas reached Okinawa and Kagoshima three days after Typhoon Fitow had passed through the same island prefectures. By the time it passed just north of Okinawa on 7 October it carried 10-minute sustained winds of 184 km/h, and the outer reaches of its 230 km/h winds struck the island on Monday evening local time. It then weakened to tropical storm strength and moved through the Korea Strait into the cooler waters of the Sea of Japan.
