Caffè Pasticceria Pirona
A pastry shop since 1900, with its liberty-style windows and original fittings intact, on the street where James Joyce kept a house between 1910 and 1912. It was never a literary café in the debating sense but a counter for sweets, and the Presnitz is the reason it is cited in the Gambero Rosso guide. On the Locali Storici d'Italia register since 1994; the DeMarchi family retired in 2017 and the Viezzoli family took it over in January 2019. Takeaway from the counter, smoking outside only.
