James-Simon-Galerie
David Chipperfield's building is the island's entrance: ticket desks for every museum on it, information counters, cloakrooms, a café, the central shop, a lecture auditorium and its own special exhibition space. It came out of the 1999 master plan as the designated meeting point, and gives direct access to the Pergamonmuseum and Neues Museum and to the Archäologische Promenade, the planned walkway that will eventually link four of the houses. It is named for the Berlin merchant who donated the Nefertiti bust.
