Rüstkammer

Historic arms and armour, including the Türckische Cammer, on an upper floor of the Residenzschloss. The collection supplies the material for the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen' 2026 programme marking the 500th birthday of Elector August of Saxony, born 1526: the Berliner Zeitung's coverage of that anniversary was illustrated with a gaming piece bearing August's portrait, made in Berlin before 1591 and credited to the Rüstkammer. Admission is paid, and step-free access to the building is from Sophienstraße and Taschenberg 2.
