Ambassador Theatre

A 1,125-seat Shubert house that opened in 1921 with The Rose Girl and spent 1980 briefly rebranded as the New Ambassador. Chicago has been in residence long enough to count as both the longest run and the current tenant, which is rare among the 41 active houses. The building sits mid-block on West 49th Street, set diagonally on its lot to fit the stage in.
