Checkpoint Bravo
This is where the Berlin-Helmstedt autobahn entered West Berlin at Dreilinden. It was the second of the three Allied checkpoints, after Alpha at Helmstedt-Marienborn. The Allies said "checkpoint" instead of the GDR's "Grenzübergangsstelle" because they did not recognise the legitimacy of the border. The former commander's tower in Kleinmachnow is now a memorial and meeting place run by Checkpoint Bravo e. V., open Sundays 11:00 to 16:00 from May to October.
