MERKUR Ostseehalle

The hall opened on 17 June 1951 as the Ostseehalle, the name it is still registered under, ran as the Sparkassen-Arena from 2008 to 2020 and has since carried two sponsor names. It holds up to 10,250 for handball, is THW Kiel's home floor, and was a venue in 2007 as well as for the 2019 European League Final Four. Two preliminary groups, E and G, are planned here with Scandinavian teams in them, the ferry links north being the reason given; wheelchair access is limited.
