The Aalto Works on the UNESCO World Heritage List

The Finnish Heritage Agency sent this nomination to UNESCO in November 2024, rebuilt from an earlier and unsuccessful submission titled "The Architectural Works of Alvar Aalto: a Human Dimension to the Modern Movement"; the Committee inscribed it in Busan on 26 July 2026, alongside 24 other properties. The serial property spans Kotka in the southeast to Seinäjoki in the west, with construction dates running from 1928 to 1988, and it credits the studio rather than one name: Alvar Aalto, Aino Marsio-Aalto, Elissa Aalto and their collaborators. Gathered here are the individual sites with their build dates and the several official names the press releases use for the same buildings, which is the part that gets muddled in the reporting.
