Olympisches Dorf

Built for the XX Olympiad to house the athletes and split at the time into a men's village and a women's village, on the north side of the Georg-Brauchle-Ring which cuts the whole site in two. The terraced concrete blocks were designed from the start to be sold and let as ordinary flats once the Games ended, which is what happened; part of the stock is now student housing. Locally it is simply the Oly'dorf.
