The competition pool of 1972, covered by the same acrylic canopy and glazed on its long side so the roof reads as continuous from the lake. A temporary stand for 7,500 stood on what is now the garden side, taking capacity to roughly 9,000 for the Games, and it came down afterwards. Stadtwerke München runs it as a public bath after a full structural overhaul, with the original sightline from the water to the tent still intact.
